Where the Fyckit List (Five Year Bucket List) Came From

Hey everybody, I hope you’re well. Hope the inspiration is flowing.

I’m in a bungalow in Ubud. Been staying here with some friends. Check it out. It’s pretty cool. There’s rice paddies back there. Sound of the cicadas in the background. The sun sets over there. It’s beautiful.

And I wanted to just tell you a little background of where the Fyckit List (five year bucket list) came from, because it wasn’t always part of the VysionQuest.

So I’d been running retreats for about two years. And I had this couple come on the retreat. They’re from Australia. This super adventure couple, Daniel and Bella.

And on the last day of the retreat — it was an amazing retreat — and on the last day Bella says, “Hey do you want to hear my list?”

And I said, “What do you mean?”

She said, “It’s my list of ’30 Before 30′. 30 things I want to do before I’m 30 years old.”

And she went and grabbed her list, we were eating breakfast on the last day of the retreat, over the ocean, sound of the waves in the background, and she explains that the day that she and Daniel had met, the first day, he had shared his list with her and it inspired her to do her list.

So she shared her list with me, and it was 30 amazing crazy things mostly around adventure. And she was a skydiver, she’d done like 200 jumps or something like that at that point.

And she’d already checked off like maybe 13 things from this list of 30 things, and they were all crazy things.

And I was so inspired and I thought, “I want to do MY list!”

I could just feel that curiosity and that drive to want to get clear about, “What are my dreams?”
And even though I’d been doing the VysionQuest, it was missing that component of it.

So they left a couple hours later, and the first thing I did was grab a piece of paper, sit down and ask myself, “What do I want to be, do, and have in the next five years?”

I think I was like, I can’t remember how old I was, but I was looking at sort of like the next five year timeline.

And it was so inspiring! It just felt like… To get clear on what those things were that I really wanted to be and do and have and experience…. focused my energy and gave me clarity about what I wanted to create in the future.

I’m gonna set a challenge for you, which is to check off one of these dreams in the next two weeks.
And mine was skydiving. I’d never skydived before. A few days later I had flown back to Australia. And with my kids and and their Mom and one of their friends they took me to this — I booked skydiving in Byron Bay — and I went skydiving. And it was crazy!

So have in mind what dream you could check off in the next two weeks, and I encourage you to do it. Hit the ground running. If you haven’t done your Fyckit List yet, do it.

That’s all I want to say. Lots of love to you guys. Just keep going. Bye.
